Day 08 Hassan to Hampi After Breakfast drive to Hampi, The discovery of stone artefacts, pottery shards and rock paintings indicate that Hampi has been inhabited since pre-historic times. The Hampi region’s historical antiquity can be pushed back to the Mauryan period (322BCE – 182 BCE) as evidenced by the rocks edicts of King Asoka discovered in the area. The presence of inscribed Buddhist panels, comparable to that of the Amravati School belonging to the 1st and 2nd centuries CE from the time of the Satavahanas (271 BCE- 220CE), give us some more definitive clues of its pre Vijaynagara history. The antiquity of Hampi can be traced to the Treta Yuga, the second of the four yugas or eons of Indian chronology. In the Ramayana, an Indian epic narrating the deeds and adventures of Rama, Hampi and its surrounding areas are identified with the kingdom of Kishkindha. This region was the realm of the Vanara (mythological half-man, half-monkey) brothers Vali and Sugriva and the birthplace of Hanuman, all of whom played a prominent role in the epic. Explore the Vitthalapura Bazaar that leads to the famous Vijaya Vitthala temple considered by many to represent the pinnacle of temple architecture in India. This temple is renowned for its musical stone pillars and a chariot carved in stone. VIRUPAKSHA TRAIL– This trail begins with a leisurely walk up the Hemakuta hill, which opens up a treasure trove of pre-Vijayanagara temples, statues and the wondrous stories surrounding them. It will also serve you delightful views of the rock strewn landscape of Hampi with its glorious sunsets. The tomb is situated in the centre of a large garden and four identical red sandstone gates lead to the tomb complex. Over the centuries, the Taj has attracted more visitors than perhaps any other Monuments in the country, and it is all too easy resort to conventional superlatives when describing it. What makes the Taj Unique is its perfect proportions, distinct femininity, medium of construction and ornamentation. Its marble exterior reflects rose and golden tints at sunrise and sunset, while it is dazzling white during the day and glowes pearl-like in the moonlight and during the monsoon. Agra Fort- Construction of the massive red sandstone Agra Fort on the bank of the Yamuna River was begun by Emperor Akbar in 1565, though additions were made up until the rule of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It is an imposing strcture with walls of red sandstone almost three kilometers long. Entered through the Amar Singh Gate, the eastern part of the fort contain palace, audience hall and mosques built by three emperors. The fort presents a good sampling of their favored architectural styles. Akbar drew on Islamic and Hindu traditions and the result is eclectic. By Shah Jahan’s time the style had become so homogenized that it is impossible to seprate the Hindu and Muslim strands. Bhutan Luxury Tour

Day 1: Paro (Bhutan) By Royal Bhutan Airlines Today morning after breakfast you will fly to another country known as The Land of The Thunder Dragon. ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon’ is without doubt one of the most unusual country of the world. The last surviving great Himalayan kingdom has long turned its back on the rest of the world, favoring Buddhist compassion over Western capitalism and prioritizing Gross National Happiness over Gross National Product. Aside from the unspoiled and awe-inspiring natural scenery, visitors are impressed by the magnificent architecture and the rich culture and heritage. You will arrive atParoAirport, the capital of Bhutan. Our Bhutan representative will wait for your arrival at main exit with placard of yours name and will be escort you till hotel and brief you about Bhutan program. Evening free at leisure or you can explore the local Market nearby your hotels. Paro-Paro is a place full of legends and history and events which marked the beginning of great cultural heritage of the country. According to legends, Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) came on the back of a tigress to Paro in AD 761, bringing with him the teachings of Buddha from Tibet. Guru Rimpoche established the most important religious site in Bhutan, the Taktsang Lhakang or Tiger’s Nest near Paro. Religious leaders of Paro controlled Western Bhutan for quite a long time and Nyingmapa School established by Guru Rimpoche gave great monks and able leaders (the present monarchy also belongs to same school). Sgabdrung Ngwang Namgyal arrived in Bhutan in 1616 from Tibet and established the dual system of governance here that remained in place till the beginning of last century. At the end of 19th century Penlop of Paro was defeated by Penlop of central and eastern Bhutan, who later became the first king of the country. Overnight stay at Hotel. Day 2: Paro After breakfast you will proceed for Paro Local sightseeing. Today’s Sights- Taktsang Lhakang(Tiger’s Nest)-Most important religious site for the Bhutanese people, this monastery is located at a distance of around 80 km from Paro, precariously perched on the edge of a cliff. Taktsang Lhakang is the place where it is believed that Guru Rimpoche arrived more than a million ago on the back of a legendary tigress. He mediated in a cave for around two months where this monastery was built later. Bhutan Tourism Corporation Limited has constructed a beautiful coffee-house at a wonderful vantage point of the monastery.
